Costa Rica Resorts
In 1930, the first hotel opened in Costa Rica. The Grand Hotel of Costa Rica has since become a historical landmark, and still is the only hotel to use Costa Rica in it’s name. Today, hundreds of hotel and resorts exist to serve the need of hungry tourists.
Costa Rica hosts a variety of resorts, some catering to certain arenas of tourists. They design their agendas around specialized vacations. There are many categories for these listings, as they make it easier for vacation planning.
Family resorts are designed to be cost effective and rich in activities, for, well, families. There are many to choose from. At Manuel Antonio National Park, the hotel packages are dedicated to families to get more from their vacation dollars. Some of these resorts are all inclusive, including everything possible within one price.
Honeymoon Resorts/Wedding Resorts are built around the illusion of romance, offering private and secluded quality of experience in Costa Rica. They offer the same activities as families but with a twist. Adults only and more luxury amenities, such as spa and nightlife entertainment.
Sports Resorts exist to focus on giving the tourist hungry for a certain activity opportunity to do so. This is popular with surfers, because much of the great surfing is not open to public and difficult to access unless by off terrain vehicles. A qualified guide is often necessary due to the dangers involved with surfing. If someone is new to surfing in Costa Rica, they need the help and planning of the resorts to avoid compromising or unsafe surfing experiences. Also, gaining popularity is the golf resorts. Costa Rica is just starting to recognize how much travelers love golf and are always seeking great turfs to embark on.
All inclusive resorts are a very attractive option for travelers to Costa Rica. The headache of proper planning in nonexistent when you choose an all inclusive resort, because everything is included in one lump price. That is the airfare, ground transportations, hotel, meals, activities (scheduled or unscheduled), and much more amenities unique to each resort package.
When to go? The best time to book your trip and get a good quality resort package is in the low season from April to November. This is the wet season with sunny mornings and rainy afternoons, but still a paradise to indulge in. Any time of year is beautiful in Costa Rica, however, the high season from December to April cause all travel prices to jump in cost, because of peak travel. November thru March is Costa Rica’s best surfing season. Many of the festivals and events are in dry season, although there are scattered events throughout the whole year.
Resorts are abundant in every region of Costa Rica. Whether it’s a specialized resort or an all inclusive, whether it’s low season or dry, you will be ensured of one thing, a memorable trip of a lifetime. The tropical climate, the beaches, the mountains, all the wildlife and local people…just waiting to let you in. Costa Rica is a perfect vacation destination.
